Hello, my name is John Forro, and I am the owner of A.S.T. Training out of Cleveland, Ohio. I started AST Training way back in the year 2000. Since then, I have trained over 10,000professional technicians across the US, Mexico, and Canada! I consider myself first as an innovator. I have developed several award-winning products over the years for myself and my past employers. I consider my next largest strength to be an instructor of automotive curriculum. I have made quite a name for myself within the industry over the span of my career doing automotive training classes across the Nation in all formats such as live stand-up, Web based, and On-camera instructional videos. I have also authored several training related manuals and coursework, some of which have been award winning. All my courses are filled with my personal real-world experience, which allows the technicians to see a greater return on their investment. Having owned my personal automotive repair facility for 20 years and having been a working technician since I was a teenager, has allowed me to receive a rich automotive experience that I can use to enhance your company’s vision in multiple ways.

 I have had a successful automotive career and am looking to share my knowledge with others within the industry. My specialties have always been drivability and electrical repairs and have made quite a name for myself within the automotive industry as a leader in those fields. I have also developed quite a lot of hybrid and electric vehicle curriculum and am ready to share it with my peers. I have trained at nearly ALL the industry’s top trade shows for thousands of technicians and instructors within the automotive industry. I have personally won the STS best-selling award for my manual on lab scopes, pioneered the bringing of mode 6 to the automotive repair industry in 1999, Won the Motor Top 20 tool award in 2000 (Silver Bullets Manual), 2022 (making money with EV’s manual), 2023 (Making Money with EV’s level 1 training class), 2023 (EV detective kit) 2024 (Automotive Insights AI app) and have also won the PTEN Innovations award in 2023 (Making Money with EV’s training classes) and 2024 (EV Detective Kit).  These are awards I won on my own and not for other companies I was employed at. With my time as an automotive instructor, I also have a unique real-world perspective of what the automotive industry and secondary and post-secondary instructional facilities want and need.
